This category is to help separate active realms from those which are inactive or dead.
In the past there was generally only one of three options to deal with such listings:
1) Delete the realm entirely from the records.
2) Leave it cluttering the list of active groups, which can lead to confusion of new members, and those who are traveling/moving.
3) Delete the "Category:Realm" tag from the realm, making the realm difficult to find in the future.
Since many realms which go inactive are later revived (ex: Talinor), keeping the realm on record has obvious benefits. And even in the event a realm were to become completely, irrevocably dead (never to return), there is a historical benefit to keeping a record.
