Character Facts:
- Due to the fact that Jak is an immortal, much of his story takes place hundreds to thousands of years ago.
- Jak is currently the oldest "living" Tiefling and because of this it is theorized that Jak may also be the first tiefling to ever be born. He is old enough to be found throughout many legends in ancient history, however his status as the first born is unable to be confirmed since he is currently so old the only people who even knew him during his childhood are either long dead undead or immortals, all of which are as unreliable a source on the matter as Jak himself.
- is unknown if his age also made him the first Lich, but he is confirmed to be the first to publicly come forward as one while ruling a kingdom (fortriu), making him the first official Lich King.
- Jak's Tiefling heritage comes from his (surrogate) mother's side. She was a descendant of the Miagani Tribe, who in ancient times worshiped the demon Barbatos. During the tribal days of The Miagani, one of Jak's ancestors made a pact with Barbatos embuing Jak with the flesh and blood of Barbatos himself. Up until Jak was born his conception was a legend of sorts, that many of the current Miagani believed to be no more than a fairytale.
- Jak's (surrogate) Father was born under The Great House of Mar, descendants of the hero Mar, who was prophesied to be reborn every millenia when the fate of the cosmos was at risk.
- Jak's primary Phylactery is a large Dark Eco Crystal that had been gifted to him by his mother when he was still alive.
- Jak's father gave Jak's Mother the Dark Eco Crystal when they first fell in love.
- Due to the circumstances of Jak's birth, Jak's father believed he may have been Mar's reincarnation.
- Jak, unlike most tieflings, Jak was very well liked in his hometown. however it's debatable if this was cause by his fiendish appearance unintentionally forcing people to be respectful out of fear.
- Jak has been lost at sea twice.
- Jak was first lost at seas when he was 10 years old. he'd spent a year alone on an uncharted island, it is said the isolation drove his under developed mind to become almost like that of a wild animal.
- Jak was eventually found by a passing ship captained by Ol' Ed Hunt, a famous sailor in his hometown. Ed's grandson, had spotted Jak on the shoreline while testing out his new spyglass.
- Ed's grandson would one day grow up to become Jak's life long friend and right hand man Bilgewater Bones.
- After returning home Jak had much trouble re-adjusting to life among normal society and had found peace with a clan of samurai known as the Zintaris who trained him in the art of the sword and his connections to the spiritual world.
- When Jak grew to be a adult tielfing he was told by his most trusted mentor among the Zintaris that his destiny was drawing near, and that he must leave the clan and follow the path he was born to follow.
- Jak mistakenly believed this was in regards to his destiny to follow in Mar's footsteps as his family's prophecy foretold, using this as motivation to begin a quest to travel the world just as Mar once did. However his mentor was actually referring to his eventual demise and resurrection.
- Jak spent about 5 years traveling the world before his ship "The Rum Runner" was eventually destroyed by a band of pirates.
- While Jak did survive the Battle with the Pirates, his ship did not. Jak died alone on the bow of his ship, surrounded by the bodies of his dead crew, and the pirates who attacked them.
- Jak's body was found washed ashore by an elderly shaman who claimed to have been marooned on the island many years prior.
- Jak was resurrected by the shaman and his soul was Bound to the Dark Eco Crystal that had been braided into his hair. Turning him into a Lich.
- Jak spent 10 years on this island. Most of his time was spent training under the shaman who had resurrected him.
- it is unknown what happened to the shaman by the time Jak escaped the island. Rumor is that the shaman passed away a few years before Jak left the island.
- Jak carries around many of the shaman's belongings, including but not limited to: His shrunken head collection, his Grimoire, and his headband.
- Jak eventually escaped the island on his own, using dark magiks found in the shaman's grimoire to raise "The Rum Runner" from the briny depths and transform it into the ghost ship known as "The Grey Ghoul".
- Due to the fact that The Grey Ghoul is now a magical ship held together by Jak's spellcasting, he actually doesn't need a crew to operate the sails or the helm. However he does need a crew in order to operate it's weapons systems as they are still cannon ball fed and ammunition based.
- It is rumored that the shaman was actually a precursor in disguise who's primary study was dark eco. Meaning that it is possible that Jak may have still been following the will of the prophecy all along.
