He was born to a noble house known as the House Lycian and was brought up in the classical education of the nobility, however he wished for adventure and not for the life of politics, at least not yet. At age 17 he was given permission, some money, and a sword and shield with his family's crest and left for adventure. He traveled as a knight without a lord for many a year until he came upon a man of unknown origin. He gave his name merely as Azrael, no family name, and he wore a mask which covered his face at all times. He traveled with this "Faceless Monk" for some time in the west fighting, and learning the ways of the tribes and kingdoms located there.

One day they traveled to a land of turmoil in the mid east of the continent. It was called Ohio. Here they found many realms of different codes and goals, whom rarely cooperated, and were constantly at war. Reynard wished to stay as he wanted to create a semblance of order here, The Faceless Monk as he was now known said he would stay here as well for now as he knew his goal lay to the south, to the Horde lands, but he understood his traveling companions need for order. It was there they met with others with likewise minds and began the Novum Imperii and founded the capital realm of Umbra Imperium. Now he serves there as an officer and seeks forever his goal for perhaps someday, order within the region. However the Empire began to decline, and his companion was killed in combat by The Mercenary, a swordsman of great prowess, who was immediately put into position that his friend had once had. He does not like, nor trust this fellow, but had no choice but to agree with his suggested reforms. He now obtained the position of Steward and was given more responsibility within the Realm.
