Lore
Background
Raven has been known by many names, even a name now long forgotten. She was not always a shapeshifter. Raven was born an elven princess in her kingdom as Xyphera, but it was short lived. Before she could take on the kingdom as its new ruler, the land was violently siege by Orcs and Goblins. With nowhere else to turn and as the sole survivor, she fled.
She had to leave the world she'd always known behind. Even her travels were a challenge. However, despite it all, Raven found new friends along the way to help her acclimate to her new life as a wandering traveler; fighting battles along the way....until she reached Albion. She found a home where she could reach her best fighting potential and learned from the best fighters within the realm. After months of learning, she decided to set out into the world again in search of places to test her new archery skills.
Raven traveled north and stumbled upon an evil creature with unimaginable powers. He took her as his captive and forced her into the shape of a raven. For months, she was missing. Serving him as one of his minions, only once in a while...would he release her from the bird shaped form. She, at first detested what she was: a pet. He even had the audacity to change her name to Raven, without much though or creativity. However, she learned to embrace this new shape because it was the key to her freedom. She tried to escape. Time and time again. Only to fail over and over. And when all seemed lost, a Swamp Goblin named Meat and a dark elf came to her rescue and broke the binding spell between her and the creature that kept her from her way out.
Since then, she vowed to never be kept in a cage again. So she trained more and more in melee and Archery. She took on a persona as a hired assassin for 4 years until she mastered the craft and retired from it and walked on the Swordbrother path in the Order of the Kensmen. For seven long years, Raven studied and learned from the Kensmen until her kensing at Equinox (2024); becoming what she is known as today: Kensmen Raven the Phoenix Ashenwolf. Because in those 7 years, she grew past the raven form and found herself blossoming into the Phoenix, her true form.
