Tooth wasn’t always called Tooth. But that’s the only name he knows so that’s the name we will use.
Tooth was once a skilled monster hunter. He protected people from those they deemed monsters and healed what injuries people had from the monsters he hunted. One thing he was especially known for is his kindness. He knew what monsters deserved mercy and always tried to resolve everything peacefully before it came to a fight. Not just because he respects all living beings, but also because everyone deserves a second chance. He had a good life. That is, until everything went wrong.
One day, Tooth was helping a town with a problem with livestock going missing. In his investigation, he determined that a werewolf was responsible. He tried to investigate to see who in town was the werewolf but when he went to confront the suspect, he was attacked by the pack. In the process, he was bit by one of the werewolves and tossed off a cliff. Tooth survived the fall thanks to transforming into a werewolf mid fall but in the process he received a major head wound. When he landed, he was in the form of a puppy Tibetan Mastiff, injured and alone on the forest floor.
Tooth was found by an opal genasie he later learned was called Glass. She took what she thought was a puppy in and nursed him back to health. But imagine her surprise when one day she goes to check on the puppy and finds an adult man. She tried to get answers out of him about what happened to him and how he got to be a puppy but was met with a blank stare. Tooth didn’t remember anything. All he knew was that she called him Tooth due to one of his lower k9 teeth being larger than the rest and staying visible even with his mouth closed. Concerned he wouldn’t survive on his own, Glass took Tooth in and helped him start the long healing process.
Tooth has come a long way since then. He now remembers more of how to fight and has gotten decent with a spear. Or what he calls his ‘stabby stick’. And he can talk normal now. Well, mostly normal. He still has a lot of dog characteristics and can’t remember everything about his past but he’s getting better with time. Slowly but surely.
