Armageddon University (AU)

From BelegarthWiki

INTRODUCTION TO AU

Armageddon University (AU) is a collection of volunteer-driven classes offered during the event of Armageddon. AU intends to present learning opportunities for folks seeking knowledge on subjects about, or related to, Belegarth. It also allows folks to showcase their passions and share/pass on their experience with their peers. As the class instructors are made up entirely of volunteers, no AU "curriculum" is the same from year to year!

AU ACHIEVEMENTS & INCENTIVES

Certificates of Achievement

Participants who attend 4 or more class sessions are eligible to receive a “Certificate of Achievement” (example pictured below). Certificates can be picked up from the AU leaders on the last evening of the event. Time and place will be advertised on the event page/schedule. If you are unable to make it to the pick-up, please reach out to the AU leaders to coordinate delivery, if desired.

Belt Loops

In addition to the Certificates of Achievement, AU offers a custom belt loop for individuals who attend/participate in the minimum number of classes for a given year. Individuals receive a belt loop upon their first year of reaching this milestone.

Every year, individuals will receive one or more scales with the respective year engraved on it if they meet the following criteria:

  •    a black scale for individuals who attend/participate in the minimum number of classes
  •    a red scale for individuals who volunteer to teach a class (or classes)
  •    a gold scale for individuals who are a part of the Armageddon University team

Every subsequent year that an individual completes one or more of the above they receive a new scale(s) with the respective year to add to their belt loop.

In addition to the scales, participants may also receive the following charms:

  •    a gold star for being in the top three participants for classes attended

Each following year that a participant is eligible for a Certificate of Achievement, they will receive an additional piece of scale maile to represent that year’s achievement. NOTE: The belt loop will only be provided once (the first time a Certificate of Achievement is received). The AU team has documentation to keep track of this.
