A Bane of Gaia:

Many years after the Stargazers joined the Beast Courts, a Garou was born in the shadow of the cresent moon. She had brilliant blue eyes, and a lavish white coat of fur. As it was decided, all stargazer children were required to be taken back to the homeland, to rejoin the tribe who resides across the sea. In hopes that one day they could reunite with their child, the pup's parents took her in secret to an old Uktena mystik deep in the forest. This old woman raised the child, teaching her the ways of the Garou, nursing her like her own. Fourteen full moons passed in the woods, leading to the anual Rite of Passage, a night when all Garou children are given a task to complete their path into their tribe. Being born a mystik herself, the pup's trial was standard. She was to venture deep into the silva, commune with a fetish deeply connected to the spirit world, and bring it back to the Caern where the tribe is gathered, all before the sun rises. Many children of the tribe, the old woman, and 3 elders stood before the fire.

"Fear not the woods young ones, for you have been blessed by many moons to face this night." breathed the old woman. "Move swiftly, but do not underestimate nature or its deceit. When your task is complete, find your way back to us. If you should fail...do not bother returning." The old mystik tossed her potion into the crackling flames, releasing a surge of smoke into the sky.

The child raced into the woods. For hours, she searched for any signs or clues of magiks. On the seventh hour, feet bled, and exhausted, she sat and wept. She felt hopeless and defeated; She would never be Uktena, and she would never leave this place to learn the fate of her parents or why they never came to visit. Closing her eyes, she took shape of a wolf, sitting and chanting in her thoughts. Through the shroud the vision came to her, of an old tree, hiding a narrow cave. She knew exactly where she need travel, her instincts took over, leading her straight to the hollow.

Within this hollow lived a powerful, seemingly friendly energy. The smell of fresh water, meat, and lilac filled the air around her. Creeping further inside, the pup could see a small scepter like branch atop of stone. She placed her paw on it, closed her eyes once more and told the branch to release itself to her. The branch listened, releasing a flare of spiritual color. It was as if galaxies vollied from the sky. She had done it, the pup had found her relic and could return home! She ran and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, starving and craving the brawn of something sweet, she neared the forest's clearing. From beyond the clearing stepped a hearty stag that came as quickly as she. So close to the end of this rite, but so young and controlled by hunger , she lept onto the creature. Her teeth sunk into its skin like a sword to fog, she could taste blood, streaming down her muzzle. The beast tasted so elegant, so pure that it clouded the young pups vision. She could feel herself drifting into unconsciousness if only for a brief terrifying moment. She released her jaw in confusion, peering down at her kill to find not a stag...but a man.

Her maw burnt, sweetness turned to ashes, lilac to decay, and back again. Soon she could not tell the difference. Warnings of the forest's trickery echoed in her mind. Every voice in her head ranted and raved, shouting at her to continue her meal. Could she go against the Litany? Could she betray Gaia and her family for just one meal? She did. She fed until little remained.

"What is this craft!? What have I done!?" she shouted in fear. The pup fled in the opposite direction for days; No knowledge of where or when she was. She never looked back, therefore never officially completed the Rite of Passage.

Years later, the wolf rest in a shallow lagoon, somewhere far away from home. Her face, burnt with the blood red scar of Gaia's bane, her body unchanged from her last lupine shift. Her blue eyes now a shade of mossy red, like a blind woman, and her mind forever shaped array. She wore black robes, tattered earthy pants, and a sash in which she attached her scepter. The great Wyrm taint, pulls at her, instilling hunger, and bloodlust. When she wake she will hunt, she will travel, and she will continue to seek out the knowledge to gain great strength. Love, hope, and joy are always present, but are never felt toward others. She is cold and bitter.

Some may wonder why one would choose this life over death, but the Bane of Gaia know too well the worth of a decent feast.
