Hadgar the Pious is a veteran battle-priest who had fought beside Argyle for a hundred battles. He was there at Reilltoch when Mordgar, and Winnebeg fell and has not forgotten the savage destruction of his people by the English. Hadgar serves as an expert on Ginnic scripture and retains most of the knowledge contained from the old books in his head, and allows the ways of the Ginnic Faith to survive. Amongst such hateful vengeance filled warriors like Argyle and Dodgrim, a pillar of piety like Hadgar is dooly needed. Hadgar the Pious longs for the day when he can step foot in Reilltoch again, and feel Ginneigh’s power through the peace and prosperity of his people, but until then he swears to fight with the fury and might of Ginneigh himself until all those who stand in the way of the O’Reillys are destroyed.
