Dusk Devil
Common Names: Fun Faun, Sin Satyr, Pandemonium Pan (Pan Pan), Monster Maenad, Gore Goat, Unseelie Unsatyr, Drow Dryad, Shade Satyr, Dusk Dancer, Rage Reveler
Satyrs and other woodland creatures thrive on the life force and chaotic energy of nature. Bipedal mammals that pinkies are, Humans too are connected to this force whether they know it or not (as are, of course, superior races). When a being consistently taps into this power, this thirst for debauchery and violence, their spirit can be chosen by the Wild. When that human dies it is possible - rare, but possible - for the chaos to fill their spirit and breathe new purpose into that which once was. Such individuals experience the world ignorant of this favor, continuing “living” on as before. Yet with each death and transformation they become more and more fae and less and less human, until the transition becomes permanent and they are pure creatures of pandemonium.
Appearance
Symbols of chaos, death, human or animal remains often adorn them. When the true form is visible they appear with horns and goblets (or other libations and substances). Their skin is colored, as if adorned with warpaint or festival pigment, and their eyes are crazed.
Ladder of No Return
Turn after death and descend
Unknowing - the initial death. Subsequent deaths on the field may increase the Wild, but the initial is the Point of Transition.
Undying - The First Incarnation of the transformed. Often viewed as a temporary moment of insanity, in truth it hails the start of the embracing of power and of the transformed’s new self.
Unliving - the new Unseelie UnSatyr lives as before, gaining power but not knowing that each revel, each kill, binds them further. They do not know their true nature yet but there are hints (such as the First Incarnation).
Untamed - The fully realized incarnation of the transformed. Untamed can appear human, but their true self can come through at will. Their undead bodies remain a useful guise for the Pandemonium.
Known Dusk Devils and Their Personal Lore
Rocca became Consumed by the Chaos when she died at Chaos XIV, when she was mortally pierced by a spear (seriously though, eff that spear). Consumed by rage, Acorn experienced an echo of her death unknown. Due to the dual nature of their twin-hood, upon Acorn’s bestowal of the Best Death later that same event, her soul furied, flamed, and died, becoming Possessed by the Pan. The Manic took over and their now undead lives become ever closer to the Wild. This was glimpsed at Chaos 15, where their forms as Sin Satyrs became visible for a brief time on Monster night, as the first incarnation of the newly UnFae: Undying
