Battlegames, also battle games, in Belegarth are foamfights with more rules than are given in the Book of War. In other words, any battle that's not a Free For All in an open field is a battlegame.

A battlegame usually has one or more objectives that when fulfilled cause the battlegame to either continue or end. It may also feature boundaries and sometimes obstacles that limit and shape the field of play. Battlegames can be combined and their objectives reordered. However, more complex and intense battlegames require more marshals, and a larger ruleset that is harder to distill discourages participation.

Battlegames are the basis of scenarios. Each stage of a scenario may use a different battlegame, which is typical at large events.
