The practice of transferring a weapon from an arm that has been disabled to the other arm.
This is most commonly done by a person stepping out of immediate combat, switching hands, and then re-entering combat. Some have become fast enough at the practice that they are able to switch hands in mid-swing without having to step out of combat.
Critism
This practice is considered illegal by some chapters and marshals. However, all forms of this practice are currently legal by the Book of War.
At Armageddon 1 War Council, Owen brought forth a motion to ban this practice. The motion failed to gain the required the votes.
The rules reflect that the practice is still legal. Below is a quote of the rules concerning a disabled arm.
- 3.4.2.2. Disabled Arm -- A disabled Arm may not hold anything. If the Arm is disabled by a Class 1 or 2 Weapon then place Arm behind back. If the Arm is disabled by a Class 3 or 4 Weapon, leave Arm dangling limply at side.:
