4. Carefully press the face of the arrow with your thumb. You should not feel the penny blunt if the arrow is constructed correctly, and the foam should restore to its original shape quickly if it is not worn out.

Your palm or four fingers together is more advisable. It's not difficult to get down to the closed cell foam using your palm. You also stand less chance of damaging the arrow head than using just your thumb. --Turin 21:04, 6 November 2005 (EST)Reply
