I'd like to clarify that bucklers were never strapped to the arm. Whether the thing had a bar grip or leather straps, it was held in the hand, like what this site calls a "Punch shield". -Butcheeks
It's a game term, not a particularly historically accurate term. "Glaives" are most swung polearms, "spears" are polearms that only stab. "Florentine" is not a term for fighting with any two weapons. Not disputing your statement (since it's true), but in turn pointing out the way terms are used in our sport.
