I found it! This is what I needed to find! Hopefully there is enough time to complete the plan.

I sat up in front of the shrine, got my bearings and began running back the way I came. I needed to make it back to the beach. I needed to start digging. The trees and plants became a blur as I sped past. The hike that took me hours now only took me an hour to run back through. At the sight of the frozen beach I jumped into the snow and began digging as close to the plants as possible. I didn’t have to dig deep to find shell. I followed the shell, digging right above it till I was in the freezing surf. I jumped into the water, the thick murky water making it difficult to see. I swam into the depths looking for an opening. I had to find an opening.

There it was! A perfectly round cave in the ice wall. I swam towards the portal as a blast of air blew me back. I was momentarily stunned. At least I had a few guesses at to what caused this hole now. I swam through the opening again. This time I was not met by a blast of air. Inside the smell of flesh grew stronger. I was heading the right way. Eventually I made it to a cross roads. Before me was a wall made of scales with a large hole opposite of where I was standing. I swam towards the wall and then up. I needed to plant the polyp just as Bakekujira’s tznacrom instructed. Soon I saw a caruncle to my left and began swimming right just a bit. I came upon the spot. I opened wide and bit the lump between the scales with my second mouth.

The skin is too thick

The polyp didn’t dig in. I needed softer flesh. I pulled out my knife and stabbed the protuberance. The knife sank in and blood started to leak into the water. The beast rumbled. I bit into the soft flesh and the polyp took hold. I swam. I swam as quickly as I could to the hole I entered from. I made it through before the monstrosity could fully awaken. I tired to swim as far away as possible but something stopped me. I couldn’t move. I was suspended in the water by an otherworldly force. I began moving toward the surface of the water. I emerged from the murky depths face to face with a lion turtle.

“Well what is this?” He rumbled. “Blue, lungs and gills, and a marked soul.” He whispered to himself. “You must be one of the Deep Ones, Dagon’s children.”

“Yes sir I am a Deep One.”

“I enjoy your father, but not enough to not kill one of his children for awakening me.” With these words the LionTurtle pulled me closer to his face and looked me dead on. The ground shook as he raised his hand. He gently placed his claw upon my chest. With his touch we transcended in a burst of light. We both saw what happened and what may happen. Then everything grew dark. There was no sound, no feeling, no sight, no smell, just nothingness.

I awoke at the same shrine as before. This time it was different. The blacks, blues, and greens of the stone glimmered with a myriad of colors from the living letters that now danced about its impossible surface. As I got my bearings my host rumbled through my mind.

Hello Qalupalik, it seems we both misunderstood the situation. I’m sorry for taking you into one of my naps. I am old and being awake is quite difficult. But now we understand each other, we are both doing exactly as we must to make our species survive. I will gladly help you raise this spawn. In fact I think they’re ready to meet you. Meet me?

I tried to push myself up in bewilderment but my right arm was now solid coral.

Why of course, its been many months since we fell asleep.
