She stood atop a mound of corpses, her scaled maille shimmering a soft green and copper in the breaking light of dawn. Left dangling on her spear, the body of her most recently slain foe. She kicked the body from the tip of her spear, surveying the battlefield. They had lived through the night. Her “children” were awash the field sowing discord among the enemy ranks. She saw flashes of spear and sword, tooth and talon, ripping their way through the throngs. Her observations where cut short as she was set upon by another wave of foes. She cart-wheeled down the mound on which she stood, her body contorting and expanding, a spike of copper slammed into the charging line impaling 4 of the grotesque beings upon her tail. Her wings unfolded sending a gust of wind upon the remaining phalanx rushing her, their formation staggered against the onslaught of wind. She struck, claws and teeth ripping through their front line. With a whip of her tail she sent the 4 bodies tumbling back into their allies. This hill was hers to hold and she would fight, she would win.
