History

The Nephalem are viewed as rejects by mankind, Aetherkin (Holy spirits, Angels, etc.), and even the Daerdekin (Dark spirits, Demons, etc.). To any being not of human nature, the Nephalem are thought of as a type of lower being as well; an abomination.

Nephalem have been around for as long as man can document. However, being shunned by most every being, they were forced into isolation to continue their legacies. Some Nephalem found each other and created secluded communities, far from man's prying eyes. Their peace usually didn't last long however, for man and beast would find them, and usually, slaughter them. Most male Nephalem possess greater than normal strength, and most female are extremely agile and sneaky. For these reasons when the Nephalem settlements would grow too large, too noticeable, man would catch wind of their presence and hunt them down.

In the year 340, era 3, the Nephalem settlement of Homrir decided they had had enough of mankind's oppression. Thus began the Week War. The Nephalem quickly overpowered man due to their sheer numbers, but when the conflict began to spread to Elven territory, the Nephalem stood no chance against the combined power of man and elf.

Since then, the Nephalem have all but been wiped out. Very few remain, making a living as discreet sell-swords, amateur assassins, or slaves.

Birth Of A Nephalem, And Physical Appearance

Nephalem are born when an Aetherkin or Daerdekin mate with a human female. For these reasons, Nephalem look mostly human but have either red or plain white eyes. They may also have patches of black, almost charred, skin. Their hair is mainly jet black or white as snow, and a rare few have stumps on their back as if they had wings at one point, but were cut off at a very early age.

Other characteristics of the Nephalem are as follows: -The Aetherkin can appear very pure and almost godlike in adulthood, some stand at least a foot taller than the average human and if they are significantly pure of heart or extremely faithful, they may emit a faint aura. -The Daerdekin are the polar opposites of their other half. They often appear sickly and corrupted, and are short and impish. They may even have sharp, pointed teeth.

Character

The Nephalem are naturally peaceful beings, but when provoked fly into a fit of rage, killing anything in their path until they view the threat as eliminated. This characteristic makes them excellent body guards and sell-swords, and makes them a challenge to kill.

The Nephalem are not quick to trust because of their tormenting past, and difficult lives currently. They may be prone to betrayal, and backstabbing.

When in combat, the men are usually the first line of defense, with the women in the back firing projectiles or in the trees waiting to drop on an unsuspecting victim. When outnumbered, they retreat and seek reinforcements and return to battle as quickly as possible.

Garb

Due to their nomadic nature, they are often wearing travel cloaks, some wear small pieces of leather armor, and very few adorn themselves in full body armor.
