Lore: Resting on the banks of a river, the realm of Mictlán wasn't always here. Long ago on another plane, the Sun (Tonatiuh), Moon (Metztli), and Land (Tlalli) all came together to create the world. Tlalli gave up her body, becoming the earth upon which Tonatiuh and Metztli's creations walk. In exchange, when their creations die, their blood nourish her. Tonatiuh is the spark of life and the embodiment of resolve while her brother Metztli is the spark of knowledge and the embodiment of reason. Together, they created animals and people. Some were blessed with more resolve, destined to be warriors. Others were blessed with more reason, destined to become scholars and tradespeople. Both sides needed the other, and so they bonded creating what is now the nation of Mictlán. However, with the coming and going of the most recent eclipse, the plane of Tlalli has begun intersecting with that of other realms. Mictlán's warriors are ready for new challenges. Mictlán's intellectuals are ready to consume new knowledge.

Mission
The Warriors of Mictlán are a tight knit group that are focused on the uplifting of their fellow members. Everything we do is centered around cultivating a community of kindness, acceptance, and service to one another and our area. We hold the well-being of our members in high regard and enable each other to grow into the versions of ourselves that we want to be. Our bond extends beyond the game of Belegarth, and within our day-to-day lives. The ultimate mission of this group is to do good, recklessly.
Ceremonies and Trials
The Warchief Elevation Trial
The trial for becoming Warchief consists of being victorious in a set of 20 2v2 duels over the course of an event. These duels must be witnessed by at least one member of the Triumverate, preferably the Head Scholar. The Warchief Prospect may choose their partner.
The Warchief and their Partner may choose their kit, though their partner may not gain the benefits of armor (they are, however, allowed to still wear it for the sake of photo ops because no one in this unit shall go dripless).
Challengers may also choose their kit, and can gain the benefits of armor.
The Warchief Prospect's side wins so long as *both* the Prospect and their Partner are alive by the end of the duel. The Challenger side wins so long as they manage to kill *either* the Prospect or their Partner.
This is a challenge intended to test the endurance, strength, and courage of the Warchief Prospect. In addition, if their Partner also participates in all 20 duels, then they may gain the title of Sunblessed as recognition for their dedication to helping the Prospect elevate.
