Liquid nails
Liquid Nails is the name of a line of adhesives and caulks. Liquid Nails brand adhesives and caulks are highly varied, with product compatibility ranging from wood to steel to concrete to foam. All products are best applied between 40F and 90F, with a curing time varying due to humidity and temperature. Most Liquid Nails adhesives reach maximum strength in 7 days. After fully curing, the adhesive still remains slightly flexible, allowing better expansion and contraction due to heat/humidity changes as well as rapid compression/decompression.
Liquid Nails is a popular adhesive brand for use in making large weapons and shields, especially in concern to bonding the initial layer of foam to the weapon or shield's core. It is here where most weapons and shields fail, especially those with nontraditional core shapes and materials. This is due to foam seperation from the core, allowing slippage, and eventually full release. This is, of course, extremely dangerous.
There are a few popular choices in Liquid Nails products out there for foam fighting applications. Some of which are:
Multi-Purpose Construction Adhesive (BC-729) Multi-Purpose Adhesive (BC-290) Ultra-Duty Poly (LN-950)
No matter what project you tackle, Liquid Nails probably has an adhesive fit for the job. Liquid Nails can be found at Wal-Mart, as well as popular hardware, home improvement and craft stores.
Liquid Nails products are manufactured and distributed by Macco Adhesives, a division of ICI Paints.
