Knights of the Watch
The Knights of the Watch (KotW) are a knightly order founded in Ered Duath. Sir Turin Adlerik was squired to the Realm of Ered Duath and given the accolade by Sir Cedric Winterborne, Knight of the Highlands of Chaos. Thus the gift of Knighthood was given to Utah. The current order Knights of the High Code can be traced to the KotW. KoW followed The Old Code. To become a KotW a member must meet requirements set by the council. These included:
- Prove Worthiness in Battle
- Proving proficiency with one on one style of fighting. This is done by meeting the following standards:
- The squire must challenge each person who is in the order to ten duels in their preferred style and win four.
- The squire must meet all the requirements for proficiency in non-knightly arms.
- Prove proficiency with non-knightly arms. This includes bow, javelin, florentine, pole-arm and others. The squire will select three styles of fighting and meet he following standards:
- Does not constantly die from missile fire. Has field awareness about projectiles.
- Squire is not careless or foolhardy in combat.
- Demonstrates good field command and awareness.
- Shows good use of their position and the use of the resources available.
- Proving proficiency with one on one style of fighting. This is done by meeting the following standards:
- Prove Knightly Character
- Secure the endorsement of the order to squire under an order member.
- Follow The Old Code.
- Secure the approval of knighthood from the following
- The squires knight.
- All order members.
- Prove dedication to knighthood and Dagorhir (Belegarth)
- Own armor. Minimum is greaves, sword arm bracer and torso protection.
- Attend at least three inter-realm events.
- Meet any extra requirements as set by the endorsing knight.
- Must be a Silver rank in the Watchman of Ered Duath.
- Participate in the KoW knighting Ceremony
