INTRO

Gribble is a simple Goblyn Bard. He likes three things: music, green, and shiny. Gribble also loves his Goblyn nesting partner Leaf, who he met long long ago.

BACKSTORY

Gribble the Goblyn Bard spent most of his life as a nomad. He didn’t need anyone else’s help to survive, so he journeyed far and wide. Collecting green trinkets and beautiful shinies along the way, Gribble played his music and he was free and happy! One day, while Gribble was wandering through the forest, playing his songs, he came across another Goblyn. This Goblyn was very green and his hair was shiny like gold. Gribble fell in love instantly! The Goblyn was named Leaf and he fell in love with the tunes that Gribble made. Soon, Leaf became Gribble’s nesting partner.

Gribble was in trouble though. Big trouble. One night, Gribble was wandering around the forest on a usual hunt for shinies when he was approached by a fairy. (some story about how a fae got me or something)

One day, when Gribble was picking berries, Gribble’s eye was caught by a path of shinies on the ground! He wandered off to pick up all the shinies he saw. It was a trap!! The mean fae knew it would trick Gribble, so he was soon lost. It took him a good, long while to realize that he was off the path and into the forest again. He was so excited to have so many shiny things in his little pouch that he could show Leaf.

Gribble ended up traveling for a few months, alone. He was not scared though, because he knew he would find his beautiful nesting partner soon!

On the day Leaf was meant to return, Gribble looked around him and realized Leaf was not there! He looked to his left, right, behind, in front, everywhere! He then looked up, and no sign of Leaf there either. Then he looked down and realized that is where Leaf must be! So, naturally, he started to dig for Leaf. Gribble is a simple Goblyn. After quite some time digging, Gribble was in this place called the “afterworld”????!!!! There, Gribble ran into Metzi the Jungle Troll and the guy he summoned sometimes, whose name is Bolg (?). Gribble remained confused but he befriended them and traveled alongside them for a little bit. These were also friends of Leaf, but Gribble did not know that because he is a simple Goblyn and didn’t think to ask! Until one spring evening…

OLYMPICS XXI

Gribble and his new friends made camp to attend a special event called Olympics. This was a big day for Gribble because he had never been to an event before! He was so excited to meet all the new friends and see all the nice faces!

Then he heard his name being called from behind him. It was approaching fast and sounded very familiar. He didn’t know if they were talking to him, so he just kept looking at his trinkets. Gribble felt someone wrap their arms around him and remembered where the voice was familiar from. It was Leaf!!!

They were reunited at last and Gribble was finally able to rest peacefully with his nesting partner at his side (awwww).

Soon after Gribble and Leaf reunited, it was time for the chaos gauntlet, which Gribble gratefully did not participate in, but was there to support Leaf! Then, came along night fighting. That is where all the best fighters got together to practice for the next day’s challenges and field battles! Gribble went because he wanted to learn to fight better (he is just a little Goblyn and has to learn to protect himself while traveling), and his friends Leaf, Metzi, and Newport accompanied him.

When they got to the field, Gribble saw this one lizardman fighter who was so fast and strong and won every fight. His name was Varg and Gribble’s friends insisted that Gribble fight him! He was so scared, but he shyly walked up to Varg and asked him to spar. The lizard agreed and was able to give Gribble three tips to make his fighting better. Gribble lost every fight with him, but he had a lot of fun fighting Varg the lizardman.

The next morning, Gribble and Leaf were sent into battle for field fighting. They were on a little team with other Westrot friends (Mogre Freeman, Moya, Hermes, and Jangles) when they were trapped in the middle of the battlefield! Leaf and Gribble were meant to flank, Freeman held up the center with a big sword and Moya, Hermes, and Jangles shielded Freeman. At one point, when the group was surrounded by big fighter guys, Leaf leaned to Gribble and said “I am going to distract them, you have to attack.” Shortly after saying this, Leaf jumped out and said “I AM A DISTRACTION!! I AM A DISTRACTION!!” Gribble was supposed to attack, but instead, Gribble was distracted by Leaf’s distraction and forgot. Gribble is just a simple Goblyn, he cannot be expected to know so many things!

At the end of the day, after field fighting, mongolian wrestling, and a special ceremony, there was the Bardic. Now, Gribble is a Goblyn Bard, however he forgot his instrument somewhere and therefore could not participate in this beautiful campfire ritual. But, Gribble and Leaf got front row ground seats to all of their friend’s performances and enjoyed it very much! However, they missed part of the performance due to an urge to make sweet love to the tune of Beorn’s favorite sea shanty… teehee.

The next day, everyone was off on their own journeys again. Gribble returned to Westrot with Leaf, Jangles, Moya, and Hermes.

GATHERING OF THE CLANS XIII

Soon, it was time for the next event! Gathering Of The Clans (GOTC) was an event meant to build community across realms, and build community it did! Shortly after setting up camp, Gribble and his friends were able to start working on quests. To get a quest, Gribble had to give some shinies to the guy at the Trole, but since he knew he would get even more shinies after completing quests, he was down for the challenge.

After completing his first quest (finding 3 treasure chests), Gribble went to redeem his prize and receive another quest. This next quest was much harder than the first; Gribble had to find and save four magical newts. After searching all of the lands with little success, Gribble enlisted his friend Beorn to help him find these evasive newts. Unfortunately, Beorn had consumed a healthy serving of mead and ale, so he was not much help. But alas! After a whole HOUR of searching, Gribble had found his last newt and was ready to redeem his well deserved shinies.

As Gribble and Beorn walked away from the Trole with two new quests and a beautiful stash of coins, they encountered Leaf. While talking to the golden-haired Goblyn,  Gribble was struck with the reminder that the Bardic was starting soon! This time, Gribble was wise enough to remember his instrument, so he (nervously) signed up to participate. Gribble spent the next hours practicing, practicing, practicing. He wanted to be the best of the best because the award for winning was a special green pick, and Gribble loved green.

When the sun fell and the flames rose, everyone knew it was time for the Bardic competition. Gribble was nervous as ever, but he was brave enough to get up and play his tune for all the clans. It should be noted that Gribble is slightly tone deaf, so being a bard has proven very challenging for him. After all, Gribble is a simple Goblyn, he cannot be expected to be perfectly in key. When the winners were announced, Gribble’s name was not called (awww), but it was okay because Risto, a friend of Gribble and Leaf, won! They were very happy to receive the green pick and very happy to have won the competition, albeit, very drunk.

After the fire died and the clans dispersed, there were other things to do, but Gribble was quite sleepy after the day’s excitement. So, Gribble told everyone goodnight and headed to his little nest to get some rest, dreaming of all the shinies he would get the next day.

And get shinies Gribble did! Throughout the day before, Metzi had been giving Gribble all his coin, and Leaf had entrusted him to hold all his coin as well. All of which meant that Gribble was coming into some serious wealth. He was very careful to protect his shinies in his nest at camp.

While wandering around and visiting all his friends, Gribble was encountered by a fae who he did not know was a fae. Gribble, being a simple Goblyn, forgot that you do not give fae’s your name unless you want them to keep it! Siege was very happy to take it from him, but offered to give it back if Gribble met them at the lake that night for “good girl squats”. Gribble planned on going. Nibbles was the new name which he adopted, since Gribble was no longer his.

After the day’s field fighting in the morning, everyone was sweaty and hot and decided to jump in the lake! Nibbles gratefully took this opportunity, as he loved to swim and desperately needed to cool down. While on a boat ride in the lake with his favorite green Goblyn Leaf, they were encountered by a siren. Leaf knew not to go in because Nibbles was right in front of him, but Nibbles simply didn’t hear the siren’s sound due to his tone-deafness. When they returned to shore, Nibbles and Leaf went to get cleaned up and ready to beg for food (a goblyn specialty). After eating bunches and helping with cleaning up a bit, it was time for the Pits of Chaos. (dun dun dunnnn)

The Pits of Chaos was meant to test the strongest, most serious fighters. Nibbles was of course not one of them, but Leaf gleefully signed up the day prior. This was a tournament-style 1v1 match with minigames mixed in through a choosing plinko board. Nibbles was super scared of Leaf entering this because Leaf was a little Goblyn who had too many mana potions (alcohol infused).

After passing the first round of fights with a dazzling win (a hatchet vs hammer fight, which was Leaf’s bread and butter), and being summoned for Beorn and Eden’s fights as well (pokemon battle and fashion show respectively), Leaf continued on to the next round of The Pits.

The plinko board of fate chose the challenge of “whoever finds an object first” for this battle, and the object just so happened to be a skull. Well, Bolg’s skull was right by the fighting ring in Metzi’s possession, which proved very convenient for Leaf. After winning that battle, Leaf was very intoxicated and exhausted and Nibbles thought he needed to stop fighting or he might get sick. Everyone else sitting near Nibbles also had similar sentiments, however Leaf kept fighting.

In the next battle, Leaf was given a spear dagger, which was a weapon that Leaf was very familiar with. He won that fight almost instantly, but everyone could tell he was losing momentum and control over his body. Whether it was the alcohol or the exertion or both, hard to say, but Leaf was getting tired.

Soon, Leaf found himself in the finals of the Pits Of Chaos against a really big, bad fighter guy. (It should be recorded that before this final battle started, Nibbles made sure that Leaf did not consume any more alcohol. But, when Leaf stood up to get ready to fight, a friend from Mictlan, Wiz, asked if he should cast fireball. FIREBALL for goodness sakes! Nibbles immediately got up and ran over to Wiz, making sure that he did not give Leaf any more alcohol.) The last plinko of destiny was cast and it was another spear dagger fight! Nibbles was overjoyed with this news because it meant that Leaf could definitely win! And he sure did! Before the battle started, both fighters had to take a shot of pickle juice, and the goal was not to avoid damage, but to not spit or swallow the juice. The first one to spit or swallow was the loser, making the other the winner. The fight started and Leaf was able to get into the other fighter’s range of motion and start jabbing him in the stomach. This is when Nibbles started to get nervous because he had never seen Leaf fight this aggressively before. Leaf was jabbing and wrestling with this guy when Leaf was on the ground and out of bounds and the fight was called off. Leaf spit, and the guy thought he won, but nuh uh uh! Since the fight was called off before Leaf spit, neither of them technically won, so there were demands for a rematch. In the rematch, Leaf went harder and faster than Nibbles had ever seen him go before. He was scared that Leaf might actually hurt the guy! But luckily, Leaf didn’t hurt him because he spit before Leaf went too hard.

Leaf got up off the ground and looked around him as everyone cheered, Nibbles being the loudest of the crowd. As he walked over to Nibbles, Leaf was surrounded by people he didn’t even know rooting for him like they were brothers, and Nibbles knew that Leaf was happy.

After the Pits of Chaos, Nibbles and Leaf were approached by Dwarves, Fae, Goblyns, Ents, and even humans with loads of coin. Now, Nibbles was of course very pleased with this as Leaf had entrusted Nibbles with all his coin and Nibbles and Leaf were able to participate in the auction!

The auction was the place where shinies turned into bigger shinies in Nibbles’s mind. One gold shiny turned into a nice leather pouch for more shinies, and then more shinies turned into more pouches for Leaf and a shiny cup and a new set of begging bowls! The auction was beautiful. Nibbles and Leaf were rolling in riches thanks to all the donors after Leaf’s big win, donations from Metzi and Pastor Ripper, and all of Nibbles’s hard work doing quests! Nibbles and Leaf decided that after getting everything they wanted from the auction they would donate their money to Eden, who dispersed it equally among all other friends as Nibbles and Leaf went to their nest to rest. Now, if you recall, that night Nibbles was meant to go get his name back, but he was sleepy so he decided to nap instead.

The next day, Nibbles and Leaf were ready to head out onto their next adventure. They made a stop in Westrot on their journey to…
