Emeryth Kowal

Emeryth Kowal- Soul Capturer (real name Ray Fabian; they/them/theirs) entered the world of LARP in fall 2021, becoming a medallioned member of Kaer Morhen, School of the Wolf in July 2022. If you see them at an event they’re either shooting you with a camera, or with arrows (wear your helm).

Emeryth was born in the year 1039, in a village outside Guleta, Aedirn (The Witcher Continent). They were naturally gifted magical abilities, something that was a blood succession but had skipped their mother. They studied magic under their mother for a few years, until there was an accident involving their younger sister, causing them to quit altogether. Meanwhile, they trained under their father to be a master blacksmith, until he passed when Emeryth was 14 years of age.

4 years later, after having taught their younger brother to be a smith as well, they traveled to Oxenfurt, Redania to study Alchemy and Astrology at Oxenfurt Academy. While studying, they found the perils that come with first love, left school without completing their astrology studies, then accidentally cursed a fairy and their lands when they found their love was lost. Emeryth decided to finally take their magic seriously, studying under the priestesses at the Temple of Melitele, lifting the curse 9 months later in the Cave of Dreams.

They spent the next 20 years rebuilding their family forge with a new twist of enchanted weapons, as well as adding an apothecary into the business. They also hired some of their closest human friends to prevent the business from being shut down due to Aerelynn’s Uprising. Emeryth even partnered with the fairy they cursed (Nerida), and the two would portal to each other to replenish stock or to take up mercenary contracts together- monster or mundane alike. That was until Emeryth’s younger sister eventually passed.

In the year 1086, Swordbrother Fen de Kaedwen sent a summons to Emeryth, asking them to come to Kaer Morhen and aid him in replenishing a new line of Witchers. Having worked closely with Fen in the past, and wanting to take the call of destiny, Emeryth took the call aiding as much as they can; taking contracts to the witchers, aiding in training and contract execution wherever possible, as well as a record of the lot’s shenanigans (as accurate as possible). While Emeryth may not fight too much, they can often be spotted in the Kaer Morhen forge or apothecary when not traveling between Aedirn, Cintra, Redania, Skellige, and other realms.
