Experimental Weapons are weapons which may or may not be currently legal but are rarely seen and for which there are significant safety or implementation concerns. Only experienced foamsmiths should attempt to create an experimental weapon due to the difficulties involved. They all are ultimately up to the discretion of the head weapon checker and/or marshall at an event and are generally evaluated on a case-by-case basis. A number of experimental weapons have a small but devoted following who are attempting to perfect their design and establish clear and practical rules for their use.
