Barbarian Nation
"What is best in life?"
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
-Conan the Barbarian
History
The Barbarian Nation was formed by Warmaster Aslaug as an attempt to institute some semblance of organization and real teamwork, as well as a heightened sense of camaraderie and belonging, amongst the fighters of Tir na nOg.
Organization
Ranks
The Nation is divided into three ranks
Warmaster - Overall commander of the Nation in battle
Chieftain – Sub-Commanders responsible for the command of their respective Clan
Clansmen – The basic warriors of the Nation
Clans
In battle, each clansmen fights as part of a clan, specializing in a certain form of combat
Clan of the Bear – The heavy line fighters and core of the Barbarian nation, led by the Bear Chieftain. Armed with a single handed weapon and a large shield, or a line support weapon such as a red or a polearm.
Clan of the Hawk – The lighter, swifter Clansmen are led by the Hawk Chieftain. Serving as flankers and skirmishers, they are armed with a hand weapon and a small shield, two weapons or a bow.
Titles
The Warmaster may bestow titles upon any member of the nation for excellence in combat, foamsmithing, garbing or armoring. Chieftains may nominate Clansmen for titles pending the approval of the Warmaster. The titles themselves will vary to fit the recipient but will still reflect why they were given.
