Remember, citizen! Rumors of Sieglatan skulking around the Realms of Anduril and Andor are not only foolishly unfounded, but punishable by death!
"They say that when approaching this one you must use caution or you might find yourself with your tail between your legs, heading for the hills. At this moment, I have not yet spoken to this one called Sieglatan, but I heard rumors that he was a humanoid not to be trifled with. I laugh at these thoughts and as soon as I find this creature again, I shall hew his head from his shoulders." ~ Dyre

Lore

“…and from the plumes of smoke and cannonade, a blackened effigy of barbs and thorns strode through, ambivalent to the shrieking artillery and whistling bolts as his steel face was to the horror strewn about the burning city. Pointing the chiseled tip of a vile weapon towards the throng of barking green skins, it turned its face towards myself and the other women who had taken final refuge underneath a collapsed stone bridge. Even through its impenetrable brass eyes, a spark of Hellish glee could be felt by all huddled behind me, instantly drudging more terror into the open air than the entire siege works of the barbarian hordes combined.”

Personal History

Born and raised in SoCal, the one who would be known as Sieg was brought into the world of Medieval combat in his Sophomore year of high school with a local chapter of the SCA lights, an experimental gateway organization to the SCA heavies. Practices involved long hours of drill, marches, and sustained tactical training, and soon the young fighter was made into a Centurion and bequeathed with the name "Dreagan."

However, after the chapter's leader's prized street racer was impounded and auctioned while he was in Japan, the leadership began to decay, with monthly fees being quickly demanded, and then squandered. By the time Dreagan became the leader of the chapter, serious recruitment efforts were needed, and new spins on the old ways had to be implemented to keep the attention of current members. Practices began to migrate from the flat fields to an area of overgrowth and forest, where ambushes, camouflage, and flanking were emphasized as necessary tools of survival. Weapons of choice were shinai, with shields being almost non-existent on the field, training Dreagan in the ways of the single bastard sword from early in his career.

The eventually day came where Dreagan had to pass on his leadership onto a new generation, and leave for the University of California at Santa Cruz. In his absence, his chapter, formerly a fire belching forge of blood and combat, where bouts of full swing armed combat were interspersed with open handed unarmed duels, became a LARP group (dice and magic missiles). In a stroke of mercy, the SCA Lights was nationally banned from existence later that year, by the SCA for causing too many injuries, and the College of St. Lawrence passed into history. Mirroring his chapter's sad fate, Dreagan found the fighting up North to be sparse and lacking at best. He briefly joined a Renaissance Faire guild, before being permanently put off by an abusive use of "insurance fees" and an overly demeaning social structure.

Eventually, he dropped the name "Dreagan" and adopted the name "Sieglatan," a traditional name from Ancient Assyria, a culture that devoted entire bass reliefs to their acts of horror unleashed upon their defeated foes. Sieglatan dropped out of nearly all competitive weapon-based fighting, and instead practiced Aikido and Battou for two and a half years before joining the SCA heavies, at the College of St. David. It was after a day of Krav Maga training on a beach, when Sieglatan was doing his laundry at Porter College, when he saw something in the main quad that would change his path forever.

Vek and another fighter were dueling in the middle of a quad, and the emphasis on full powered swings, wildly differing weapon types, and stabbing hooked Sieglatan, and despite several painful shots to his sunburnt back, he never looked back. After fighting with the newly formed realm, and attending the War Council that decided its name, Salamandastron, Sieglatan briefly fought at Andor, infamously cutting a huge block of foam from the middle of Outis' roll of foam. Upon returning Northwards, Sieglatan fought to sharpen his skills, and learned the administrative structure of the UCSC club organization SOAR. Over the next Summer, he singlehandedly registered Salamandastron as a SOAR - sponsored club, and registered a place at the club fair at the beginning of the school year.

The fair was a massive success, garnering a generation of truly awesome fighters. Unfortunately, the tides of fate once again tore Sieg from his home realm, forcing him to return to SoCal in order to change his major. Since then, he has fought with the sword and board masters at Andor, earning enough esteem to be nominated for Arch-Herald, and Field Commander (both positions he respectfully declined). He has attended the Second Battle of Andor and the First Battle of Silica Vale, as well as helping to run the Second Battle of Andor, where he flaunted his meager artistic talents on the prize sashes for the tournaments.

His goals, at present, include building a propare-fueled flamethrower forge, earning a good bit of capital, studying in his new major, growing California's reputation in the national Belegarth circle, and spreading awareness of Belegarth to mundanes everywhere.
