'''Lore:''' Mittelmarch lies near the Iron Mountains at the center of “the mist,” which surrounds the Land Between the Lands (LBTL). The mist will transport you to and from other realms; that is why there is a variety of people, races and beasts in Mittelmarch. 
Little is known of the First Age. It was said men and few other races lived here, and there was a great war with the orcs of the White Fang. The Good was wiped out. This led to a dark Second Age when the Orcish sorcerer Izg'bel ruled and would eventually be destroyed by a great cataclysm that would crush his lair and army under the Iron Mountains.
In the Third Age of Mittelmarch there was a long time of peace. Alric, Son of Harland and his group of Visigoths would make Mittelmarch their home. It was a simple place of mostly farming land and wooden guard towers that formed a circle around the peaceful village. Eventually this peace would be threatened by a variety of enemies. We built walls of stone that still protect us to this day. Enemies like Grish'nak and the Jovians have spilled plenty of Mittelmarch blood, but we've overcome them all. 
Here you live and die by the sword. Knights, thieves, orcs and all sorts wander this place. 
Be wary on your travels! Now and always we fight for the Glory of Mittelmarch!

'''Olympics:''' The Olympics is a nationally recognized four-day event with a full schedule of activities including two days of themed battles, singles and group tournaments, classes on craftsmanship, culture and fighting techniques, night fighting, active nightlife in the Mittelmarch pavilion and surrounding camps, Arts and Sciences and Bardic competitions, Merchant’s Row and a Barbarian Trading Post. The Olympics is typically held in April each year (~420 attendees at Olympics XV in 2018).

'''WAR:''' WAR is a single-day battle where two teams battle with minimum lulls; the objective is to conquer and defend territories along several terrains; bridges, woods, and open field. A herald with a stopwatch for each territory determines control. Fighters are encouraged to take breaks on their own time, but the battle will keep going; this is an event for people who like to fight hard. WAR is typically held in October each year (~250 attendees at WAR in 2019).
