Lore
As the only child to a lonely hunter, Moose was bound to the forest by duty and livelihood. One day, her father was too prideful and killed a moose for sport instead of need. When the spirits of the forest found out, he blamed his child for the death of the animal. The spirits, who knew of her innocence, took her in instead of cursing her. Her father, because of his hubris, was cursed by the spirits so that he would show the world who he truly was on the inside. He became weak and frail, reflecting his actions at blaming his young daughter for the death of an innocent animal. He ran away into the forest, his body to be consumed by the earth he was from.

The spirits, while taking in the child, had realized that they could not take her in without anything in return. In exchange with Moose, the spirits only asked the girl to collect the knowledge of her world, so that when she became one with the stars she would be able to tell them stories.

In her fear and confusion of being betrayed by her father and being adopted by the spirits, Moose was consumed with sorrow and decided to take the pelt and antlers of the moose her father had mercilessly killed. She vowed to walk the lands of Belegarth, collecting knowledge and the truths of life so that she one day may return with stories to tell to the spirits above.
