Tznacrom of Iku The Mantling Ceremony

Transcription

“Today on thee 23rd anniversary of their burst I shall mark Iku- Tulran as the new champion and Admiral of the Fish Caste!”

With that I walked out upon the coralline balcony. In front of me was every Fish Caste Deep One to congratulate and celebrate their new admiral and champion. Never before had there been a Fish that was both and never had there been a Fish with both majikal and combat prowess. But this moment was Not a glorious moment to me, this was a massive burden I was about to take on For it is my duty to lead the fish caste to victory against the other castes. As Vice Admiral Tzarshol droned on more about this ceremony and the weight of this title I scanned the crowd. In the front was Iltan the ambassador of the Cephlon caste who insists that the castes are not at war yet such a moment as the establishment of a new admiral was to be a time that all non warring admirals were to be present for and yet… The crustacean admiral was missing from the crowd as well but they have always been happy to pick fights with the other castes. The Mammals on the other hand sent no representative but this is unsurprising as all their vice-admirals are too busy fighting each other. To the right a little ways was Admiral Beethle of the Shark caste along with a small convoy of their kin. In the fringes of the amassed school was Phye, their glowing eyes occasionally meeting mine from beneath their veil. Hidden amongst the crowd I sensed but never saw another presence, something much older and powerful, but who or what it was I couldn’t pick out.

“-and so we place this mantle upon Iku-Tulran’s shoulders, that they may know the wight of their position.” Echoed Tzarshol as they placed the Admiralty mantle upon my shoulders. “And so that they know that they are a leader They are given this sword and shield so they may lead the charge!” with these words the sword and shield of Nengun were bestowed upon me as I was now the champion of the fish caste. The crowed cheered as I raised my arms, holding the weapons and the fate of my caste in my hands.
