| − | Prince Par Ohmsford was born into the affluence of a royal family in a peaceful kingdom. [[Shannara]], The Southern most realm in the [[Highlands of Chaos]], was one largely unafflicted by the wars ravaging the countries to the East and North, Mainly [[Ebonhold]], [[Paranor]], and [[Korayn]], and [[Latnemir]]. Par grew up a diplomat, learning to use his words to quell arguments and uprisings, not brute force. Sadly he couldn't use brute force because he never took his hits so no one ever trusted him. That being sad he was good at buying his way into power. This was the way that had worked for generations, and seem to be the one that would work for many more to come. That all changed one fateful day. Par was only 18 when [[Forkbeard]] and his army of [[Uruk-Hai]] started attacking villiges in the southern parts of [[Shannara]]. It was all Par's fault really he cried because Fork wouldn't let him play with his sword. Par's parents, King Eventine and Queen Amberle, having no experience in the arts of war, turned to Sir [[Thane]], High Commander of the [[Chaos Guard]]. They pleaded desperately for [[Thane]]'s assistance. [[Thane]], being a Champion of the Human Race, answered the call for help. He, along with his assembled Guardsmen rode to [[Shannara]] from the [[Halflands]] where they were headquarted and arrived in [[Shannara]] as swiftly as possilbe. The promise of all the wenches you could want was to great! Upon arriving, they quickly drove back the invading monsters. The monsters actually left because Par's whining became to great, and killing him seemed to nice a fate for this spoiled prince-ling. [[Whargoul]], being a wisened veteran of many battles knew the [[Uruk-Hai]] would return, and also knowing that the man in force of the [[Chaos Guard]] would be needed elsewhere, suggested to [[Thane]] that a Shannaran army must be raised. [[Thane]], recognising the neccesity of this action, and with the King's permission, and Par's help, "cough" he was forced by the king to include his son "cough" raised a small army, and took several of the officer's of this new Army under his wing. Along with Par, other fellow new Shannaran Guardsmen included his Cousin [[Shirl Ravenlocke]], [[Menion Leah]], [[Garet Jax]] [[Hendell]], [[Johan]], [[Gambit]], [[Maverick Havlar]], [[Fenero]], and [[Vandilol]]. Amongst these new Guardsmen, Par rose to the top in Leadership and Battle prowess (hmmm I wonder why?!). Par's character and determination lead to Par gaining [[Thane]]'s trust (aka money buys power), and leading to his eventual Squirship to Sir [[Thane]]. Two years passed, and Par proved himself a capable warrior at Thaw Brawl 05, First war of the Forbiding, and Chaos Wars 9. Upon his 20th birthday, Sir [[Thane]] sent Par to [[Rath]], the Western trade Center for the [[Highlands of Chaos]]. [[Shirl Ravenlocke]] and [[Menion Leah]] were given joint control over the Shannaran army in Par's abcense. There, [[Astrix]], the Aevincar of the military was having problems with the [[Horde]] from the West. Par was to go, and help [[Astrix]] recruit, and train an Army capable of protecting the Western front of the Highlands. Once Par and [[Astrix]] met, they were instant friends and allies. Par helped [[Astrix]] recruit and train fighters for the Army. Amongst them were two fighters that respected the Ideals of the [[Chaos Guard]], [[Tamar Halflintosser]] and [[Tiberias Stormshroud]]. Both men sought entrance to the Guard, and Par granted them entrance, on the condition that they travel to meet Sir [[Thane]] and the other Guardsmen before they become full members. While in Rath, Par met many friends and allies, but he also met his love. While walking through the city Market he encountered a beautiful red-haired Elf named [[Ariata Tyrathem]]. "He was instantly smitten". After a brief courtship they pledged themselves to each other, Par promising to marry and give her enough money to make marring .... not so bad. Ariata only after he had attained [[Knighthood]] and brought glory to the [[Highlands of Chaos]]. Par still labors in [[Rath]], seeking to make sure that the Western defenses of the Highlands are secure, and striving ever forth to the glory of Knighthood.
