[edit] General

Jinn, also romanized as djinn or anglicized as genies, are supernatural creatures. An individual member of the jinn is known as a jinni, djinni, or genie . The jinn are made of a smokeless and "scorching fire" but are also physical in nature, being able to interact in a tactile manner with people and objects and likewise be acted upon. The jinn may have a variety of motivations and alignments, but they are almost always antagonistic towards other races, particularly those that are not magically inclined.

Jinn are nomadic and tribal. They do not have cities or permanent settlements, but rather semi-permanent communities similar to Bedouins.

There are several different orders of Jinn, such as the Marid, the Ifrit, the Shaitan, the Ghul, the Jann, the Dao,the Genasi etc.

Some traditions described them as creatures of different forms; some resembling vultures and snakes, others tall men in white garb. They may even appear as dragons, onagers, or a number of other animals, but the jinn generally assume human form to mislead and destroy their human victims.

[edit] Appearance

The jinn come in many different variations and this can have different forms. The Silverhelms have silver skin, while The Damned have skin that varies between white, gray and black. Other Jinn appear indigo blue to bluish silver, and those that are not full blooded Jinn may still show traces of blue Chi lines along their skin.
