Overview

"There is no honor, only victory."

The Guard of the Highlands of Chaos, more commonly known as the Chaos Guard is the military unit of the Highlands of Chaos, sworn to protect The Highlands at all costs and by any means from monstrous influence. The Highlands of Chaos is a wider term for all of the realms in the state of Idaho. These realms are Korayn, Ebonhold, Halflands, Paranor, Latnemir, Shannara, Rath, and De Treba Mora. To better protect the northern borders

Philosophy

We are not an elitist unit. Our ranks are open to anyone who meets the following requirements: 1. You must play a good-aligned non monstrous race, including but not limited to Humans, Elves, Half-elves, gnomes, and halflings. The Chaos Guard is sworn to protect The Highlands against monsters. 2. You must be an honorable fighter. The Guard does not tolerate cheating of any kind, most simply because it demeans the sport. We are open to new fighters and veterans alike, if you are new, any Guard member will be willing to teach you what they know. We are a family of sorts, united in the common goal of making the sport better for all.

Appearance

Guardsmen are easily distinguished by the uniform they wear onto the field. The standard Guard uniform is simply a basic tabard that, when worn, displays green on the wearer's right and gray on their left. Green and gray are the basis for the Guard's colors and often also adorn their shields or other misc. garb and weapon items. Tabards are not required however, and we encourage each member to be original with their garb to reflect their personal character. Any Guardsman is free to put their personal symbol on their tabards and shields. The primary color of the Guard of the Highlands of Chaos is green. This color represents the wealth and prosperity of the Highlands, which is the Guard’s first priority. The second color is gray. This color represents the Guard’s views on combat. There is no true good and no true evil. What we choose is good and those who oppose us are evil. The primary color of the Chaos Guard is green. Ranking

The Chaos Guard has a structured ranking system. The highest ranking fighter is in command of the Guard and holds the title of "High Commander." The High Commander places lower ranking fighters in charge of smaller divisions. In order to lead a division you must at least hold the rank of Officer. Once you gain a rank in the Chaos Guard, it cannot be taken away. The High Commander must be a knight with a guard rank of no less then Commander. If two fighters are in line for High Commander simultaneously, or the current High Commander is contested, the fighters in question will assemble before all present Guard members, and will battle for the position. The two contestants will gather along with any and all supporters they have. The supporters MUST be members of the Chaos Guard. They two sides will battle each other in a standard line battle. Any weapons and armor may be used. The winner of three of five fights determines the victor. The High Commander may be contested only by one fighter and only after a period of 90 days after his in-statement or last contest. The winner of the contest will be the new High Commander. The High Commander may set a fair, in game punishment for the loser and all of the supporters of the loser.

A Guardsman only fails is trial if he quits, or if the assembled commanders believe that too much time has passed. While there is no set time limit on any trial but Death Bringer, the Commanders will know if a fighter is not ready for the rank they are attempting. A good rule of thumb is thirty minutes per trial.

In the Highlands of Chaos, where monsters roam And danger lurks at every turn There stood the Guard, a warriors' home To protect and keep the realm from burn

With swords in hand and armor bright They ventured forth, the Guard so true Against the beasts of darkest night They battled on, their duty to pursue

They faced the horrors of Korayn And the dangers of Ebonhold But with courage and strength, they did gain Victory, their stories to be told

They marched through Halflands, Paranor And the land of Latnemir Their quest, to keep the realm secure And the monsters far from here

But the journey was not an easy one For the Chaos Guard did face their share Of trials, battles, and battles undone But they persevered, with hearts of care

And in the end, the Guard did prevail With the Highlands safe and sound Their tales of triumph, now to unveil And their victories, forever bound

So let us raise a glass and sing For the Chaos Guard, so brave and true Their adventures, a tale to bring And their legacy, forever to renew
