Compound bows are not allowed. Most other types of bows are allowed in Belegarth, with the most common being fiberglass recurve bows, and composite bows (eastern bows); you'll also see a smattering of long and short bows. The maximum poundage allowed for a bow is 35 pounds at 28 inches draw.
Crossbows are also allowed. The maximum poundage allowed for a crossbow is 450 inch-pounds (find further details in the BOW.
